Drivers who have been thinking about buying a European luxury car may not want to wait too long.
As the dollar continues its long slide against the euro, prices of vehicles made by such auto companies as BMW AG, Porsche AG and Volkswagen AG’s Audi unit have steadily crept upward ahead of U.S. and Japanese vehicles over the past few years. But while car makers have largely avoided substantial price increases so far, some analysts are warning that could change as soon as next year.
They “can’t make money at the current exchange rates, so they either have to raise prices or start building them here,” says David Healy, an analyst at financial-services firm Burnham Securities.

German car maker Volkswagen finally gets a small SUV that is based on the GTI.
With enhanced exhaust system that will yield clean gases; the Tiguan’s clean diesel is a first in the segment. Volkswagen said that like any other VW vehicle, the Tiguan is expected to be efficient and powerful.

Will this be the New 7 series? Sources say this new BMW CS could be the replacement, to the the popular, once controversial BMW 7 series. Every automaker is looking to make the next “must have” big body car, or what i like to call 4 door coupes. The Mercedes Benz CLS started this trend. Sleek and demands attention just like a super-model, this class of pimp 4 doors are hitting the market. Some people think that the CLS is ugly those people are what i like to refer to as “idiots”.

Volkswagens’ plans to deliver a sub-Golf sized car to the U.S. market has stalled as the German automaker considers allowing rival DaimlerChrysler [DCX] to import the car instead and sell it under the Dodge label. VW dealers are naturally unhappy about the move, but much more is at stake than what is evident. Will the Polo still show up? If not, why not?
The world of automobile marketing has changed drastically in the last generation. Gone are brands that are purely set behind national borders and localized brands. Instead, vehicles are being sold that wear one label but are actually built by another manufacturer. Globalism is here and automakers have openly embraced these changes. (more…)
